ZBEVPN troubleshooting guide

I downloaded ZBEVPN, but it does not work

If ZBEVPN was installed but cannot sign in, cannot connect, or cannot start the VPN tunnel, the problem is often caused by local network settings, security software, another VPN app, or internet restrictions between your device and the ZBEVPN service.

Quick things to try first

Simple restart

Restart the computer or phone after installation, then open ZBEVPN again.

Try another network

Try home Wi-Fi, another Wi-Fi network, or a mobile hotspot. This quickly shows whether the current network is blocking the app.

Disconnect other VPNs

Another VPN app can interfere with routing, DNS, or tunnel setup. Disconnect it before using ZBEVPN.

Check security prompts

If Windows Security, antivirus, or firewall software asks whether to allow ZBEVPN, allow it when you trust the installation source.

1. Proxy settings may block the app

Simple explanation: A proxy is a network setting that sends internet traffic through another server first. Some work, school, hotel, or managed computers use a proxy. If that proxy blocks ZBEVPN, the app may not be able to reach the service.

Try ZBEVPN from another network, such as home Wi-Fi or a mobile hotspot. If it works there, the original network or proxy may be the problem.

Technical check for Windows

Open PowerShell or Command Prompt and run:

netsh winhttp show proxy

If this shows a proxy server and the computer is managed by work or school, the proxy may be controlled by your organization.

2. Firewall or security software may block ZBEVPN

Simple explanation: A firewall or antivirus program can block VPN apps even when the app is installed correctly. This may stop sign-in, service access, or the VPN tunnel.

Check Windows Security, antivirus software, or any company security tool for blocked-app messages. Also try restarting the computer after installation.

Technical details

Security software may block:

  • the ZBEVPN desktop application
  • the ZBEVPN background service
  • VPN tunnel traffic
  • HTTPS access to the ZBEVPN service
  • UDP VPN traffic used by the tunnel

3. Another VPN or virtual network adapter may interfere

Simple explanation: If another VPN or virtual network tool is already installed, it may try to control the same network settings as ZBEVPN. This can cause connection, DNS, or routing problems.

Disconnect other VPN apps, restart the device, and try ZBEVPN before opening other VPN or virtualization tools.

Common examples include Cisco AnyConnect, OpenVPN, Hyper-V, WSL, VMware, VirtualBox, and other VPN clients.

Technical check for Windows

Open PowerShell and run:

Get-NetAdapter | Sort-Object Status,Name

This shows the network adapters installed on the system. Many VPN or virtual adapters can sometimes affect routing, DNS, or adapter priority.

4. The local network may block VPN traffic

Simple explanation: Some public, hotel, school, company, airport, or shared networks allow normal websites but block VPN connections.

Try another network. A mobile hotspot is often the fastest test. If ZBEVPN works on one network but not another, the blocked network is probably the cause.

5. Country or regional internet restrictions may block access

Simple explanation: ZBEVPN must contact its service infrastructure before it can create a VPN connection. In some countries or regions, internet providers or network authorities may restrict VPN services or block access to VPN backend servers.

When this happens, the app may install correctly but fail to sign in, register the device, or download the VPN configuration.

Try a different internet provider, mobile network, Wi-Fi network, or another region if available.

What to send to support

If the problem continues, include these details when contacting support:

These details help identify whether the issue is caused by the device, the local network, another VPN, security software, or regional internet restrictions.
